The Colon Cancer Alliance is a national organization of colon and rectal cancer survivors, caregivers, people with a genetic predisposition to the disease, and other individuals touched by colorectal cancer. CCA brings the voice of survivors to battle colorectal cancer through patient support, education, research and advocacy by providing patient support services and facilitating access to information. CCA educates the public about colorectal cancer and encourages early detection through appropriate screening and works with other organizations to increase federal, state and private funding for research and effective treatment of all cancers. Additionally, CCA advocates legislation to support public funding for all cancers, particularly colorectal cancer.

Having survived the major life threatening phase, Michael has begun many of the protocols suggested to improve his overall health. One of these is the Bowel Cleansing Program. Designed to rid the body of any harmful bacteria populating the bowels, the Bowel Cleansing Program targets such bacterias as: Salmonella and Shigella. While some bacteria are benefical, the Salmonellas and Shigellas are extremely detrimental because they have the ability to invade the rest of your body and colonize a trauma site, or weakend organ. In Michael's case, the colon would be considered a trauma site/weakend organ. After much research, we settled on the products available from the Dr. Clark Store and those of the Self Health Resource Center.

5-Hydroxytrypthophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid which is formed from the amino acid Tryptophan. It is manufactured as a supplement as a means of bypassing the first step in the production of the neurotransmitter "Serotonin".
5-HTP is said to:
alleviate anxiety, various forms of depression, insomnia, panic disorders;
inhibit aggression as well as obsessive-compulsive disorders;
