Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, October 2003. A celebratory Keep Blair Alive! "six-month-survivor" trip

Way back in April 2003, (specifically the 9th) Michael's oncologist (Dr. Lorrin Yee, Lakewood) diagnosed Michael with non-survivable metastatic liver cancer, indicating that it was unlikely that Michael would survive for longer than six months (October 9th, 2003). Michael had successfully lived to see and participate in all the fundraising acitivities hosted in his honor during August through early October-and we planned that Michael be alive to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary on October 13th.

Thanks to the suggestion and generosity of Dave and Donna Rink, it was decided to take Michael away on a one-week, celebratory Keep Blair Alive! "six-month-survivor-trip" to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico from Sunday through Saturday, (October 5th through 11th, 2003).

Here are some background details that led up to and also some highlights of that trip.

In the fall (October 2002), Michael and I attended the Albuquerque New Mexico Hot Air Balloon Festival with my parents. (If you have ever wanted to see an incredible display of hot air balloons this phenonmenal event is the one--do it!). We talked about the trip and shared pictures with our friends, Dave and Donna Rink, and early in 2003, the four of us made plans to attend the event in October, 2003. Dave and Donna put in for their vacation time off very early in the year.
For Michael and I, news of his metastatic liver cancer in early April changed the course of our lives and precluded us from committing to any plans far into the future--including the trip to New Mexico in October 2003. Michael had survived to October, 2003 and the Rinks began lobbying to go on a trip with us--albeit, not the one we had originally planned. Their vacation time off was still set--October 6 through 10 and a plan was hastily initiated by Donna Rink, (tour director extraordinaire!, Thanks Donna!)

Michael and I bought into Trendwest's Worldmark, The Club many years ago. Trendwest has an incredible resort in Cabo San Lucas and even with the incredible short notice, they had space for us during that week! and we were able to use bonus time points to secure lodging. Donna arranged airfare and we were on our way!

Stay tuned ... I promise to continue to work on this narrative about our trip, including photos, but I wanted to get some details up here for those of you who are following our story.
Highlights will include:
Learning about the Biofeedback device EPFX/QXCI/SCIO, this single event is the reason that Michael survived cancer for as long as he did.
Photos taken during the trip
Details about our activities, including:
Dinner at Felix's;
Attending the "sold out" Sammy Hagar & The Waboritas Cabo Wabo Birthday Bash Tour live concert, as a guest (on his private list!) of Sammy Hagar at Cabo Wabo, Sammy Hagar's Night Club, Restaurant, Bar and Concert Hall "Cabo Wabo" (WOW!) Sammy's fans assemble from all over the world to attend his "birthday week" Birthday Bash Tour concerts in Cabo San Lucas. We were honored to be a part of this event while we were celebrating Michael's six-month-survivor-anniversary during that same week.
Horseback riding; ATV riding; Snorkeling; Poolside activities; Pirate ship cruise on Thursday night, October 9th (the "six-month-survivor" anniversary in honor of Michael); shopping in San Jose; Friday night BBQ at Trendwest Resort ... and more
